Grid Technical Director

About the role

The Grid Technical Director will lead all grid connection and interconnection activities for renewable energy projects in Morocco. This senior position requires deep technical expertise in power systems and the ability to guide project teams through complex regulatory and engineering challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Lead grid connection and interconnection studies for solar, wind, storage and other renewable projects.
• Assess grid capacity, connection options and technical constraints that affect project development.
• Support project siting, capacity sizing and technical design decisions.
• Coordinate and review power system studies, grid impact assessments and due‑diligence reports.
• Manage external engineering consultants and technical advisors.
• Negotiate technical requirements related to grid connection and network access.
• Monitor regulatory and technical developments in the power sector.
• Identify technical risks and provide recommendations to development teams.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of transmission networks and renewable integration.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in power utilities, renewable energy or related sectors.
• Proven experience with solar, wind, storage or other generation projects.
• Background in grid connection studies, interconnection processes or transmission planning.
• Experience working for developers, utilities, engineering consultancies or IPPs.
• Fluent in French and English; Arabic is a plus.
• Strong analytical, commercial awareness and stakeholder‑management skills.
