Group Deputy CEO (Executive Leadership)

About the role
The Group Deputy CEO will work directly with the CEO in Casablanca, acting as the right‑hand executive and member of the Executive Committee. This hands‑on, project‑driven position is responsible for running day‑to‑day operations, driving growth in Morocco and abroad, and supporting strategic governance.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the CEO’s alter ego on operational, organisational and project matters and enforce Executive Committee decisions.
- Lead support functions (finance, HR, legal, IT, procurement, real estate and facilities) and drive the Group people agenda, including recruitment, performance management and succession planning.
- Coordinate site directors to ensure common standards, allocate resources and arbitrate cross‑site issues.
- Structure the organisation for scale by defining delegations, policies, internal controls, reporting and information systems.
- Drive the development pipeline in Morocco: site studies, business cases, financing, real‑estate negotiations, permits, construction and openings.
- Prepare and execute international expansions, partnerships and acquisitions, covering country assessment, legal set‑up, due diligence, negotiation and integration.
- Represent the Group with institutions, banks, investors and partners and contribute to Board and shareholder governance.
Required profile
- Graduate of a leading engineering or business school; MBA or executive programme is a plus.
- At least 15 years of experience, including senior roles such as Deputy CEO, COO, General Secretary, Chief of Staff or head of a business unit with full P&L responsibility.
- Background in top‑tier strategy consulting followed by an operational role is highly valued.
- International experience – having lived or worked outside Morocco or led a market entry.
- Proven track record of growth and structuring: opening sites, building support functions, implementing processes and integrating acquisitions.
- Sector experience open to industrial groups, real estate, education, healthcare, hospitality networks or diversified family groups.
Required skills
- Fluency in English (oral and written) and French; professional command of Arabic.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to move between shareholder meetings and construction sites.
- Strong leadership and arbitration skills, able to federate senior managers and make decisive judgments.
- Strategic vision combined with operational pragmatism, discretion, integrity and loyalty.
