HSE Manager - Container Terminal (TM2)

About the role

APM Terminals MedPort Tangier (TM2) is looking for an HSE Manager to support its complex container-terminal environment. The role works closely with operational leaders, the Senior Management Team, employees, contractors, authorities and regional and global HSSE colleagues to strengthen safe, reliable and environmentally responsible operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the HSE team by setting clear objectives, priorities and performance expectations.
• Translate corporate and regional HSSE requirements into the TM2 HSE strategy, annual plan, objectives and improvement roadmap.
• Own the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of the site HSE management system, embedding legal, regulatory and APM Terminals requirements in local processes.
• Lead the identification of material HSE risks, define critical controls and verify their effectiveness across operations, projects, equipment modifications, procurement and contractor activities.
• Ensure incidents, near misses and high-potential events are reported, investigated, communicated and turned into organisational learning.
• Develop and run a risk-based programme of audits, inspections, deep dives and management reviews, with transparent escalation to management.
• Strengthen HSE capability, worker participation, contractor compliance, environmental management and emergency preparedness while managing assigned budgets, resources, suppliers and services.

Required profile

• Master's degree in occupational health and safety, engineering, environmental management, risk management or a comparable discipline, plus a recognised HSE qualification such as NEBOSH or equivalent.
• Normally seven or more years of relevant HSE experience in a complex industrial, logistics, port or terminal environment, including senior-level experience.
• Experience leading professionals and cross-functional improvement, with strong knowledge of HSE management systems, legal compliance, risk and critical controls, incident investigation and assurance.
• Professional working knowledge of English; French and Arabic are valuable in the TM2 environment, and experience in automated or container-terminal operations is an advantage.
