HSE Manager

About the role

The HSE Manager will lead Health, Safety and Environment initiatives for AkzoNobel, ensuring protection of people and operational safety in line with Group policies, legislation and ISO 14001/NM 005.801 standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy and implement AkzoNobel Group HSE policy at the local level.
• Define local HSE objectives, budget and annual plan, and monitor execution.
• Maintain and develop the HSE management system (manuals, procedures, documents) according to ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and Group directives.
• Drive HSE culture, continuous improvement and compliance across the site.
• Lead incident/accident investigations, process hazard analyses, management of change reviews and PSM audits.
• Monitor regulatory changes, ensure legal compliance and update HSE dashboards.
• Coach and develop HSE teams, coordinate projects and HSE committee meetings.
• Promote responsible care concepts and waste reduction initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing HSE programs in an industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and NM 005.801 standards.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and foster a safety‑first culture.
• Excellent analytical skills for risk assessment and performance monitoring.
