IATA Agent

About the role

TUI is looking for an IATA Agent to manage complex flight bookings, ticketing, exchanges and re-issuances. The agent works closely with global airline partners (IATA carriers) to deliver accurate, compliant ticketing and top-tier customer service for customers and groups, using expertise in GDS systems and airline regulations. The role is published until 3 November.

Key responsibilities

• Handle individual and group flight bookings, securing space across international and domestic carriers and processing e-tickets, automated and manual re-issuances, re-routings and exchanges in line with IATA regulations and fare rules.
• Manage flight changes, cancellations, schedule updates and seat allocations, including seat limits, group splits and alternative routing during disruptions.
• Quote complex itineraries, apply taxes, fees and surcharges (TTS/YQ/YR) and process refunds or voids accurately.
• Coordinate with partner airlines such as Iberia, TAP Portugal and RAM on special service requests, group space management and waiver codes.
• Support internal travel advisors, operations teams and direct clients by phone, email or chat.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Ticketing Agent, Travel Consultant or GDS Operator in a travel agency, airline or tour operator; TUI experience is a plus.
• IATA/UFTAA Diploma or equivalent airline ticketing certification highly preferred.
• Deep understanding of IATA ticketing rules, fare construction and automated re-issuance tools, with attention to detail under pressure.
• Solid problem-solving skills for last-minute flight alterations and group logistics, and excellent English (and local operational languages such as French, depending on the region).

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one major GDS platform (Amadeus, Sabre or Galileo)
• IATA ticketing and fare rules knowledge
