Identity, OS & Datacenter Engineer

About the role

As part of Scalian Group's FY27 IT Infrastructure transformation, the Identity, OS & Datacenter Engineer will design and maintain secure, standardized foundations for operating systems, directory services, virtualization, compute and storage across a multi‑site international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain Windows Server and Linux reference builds, configuration standards and lifecycle roadmaps.
• Engineer core identity services such as Active Directory, GPO, DNS and DHCP.
• Design and evolve datacenter platforms covering VMware vSphere/vCenter/VxRail, compute, storage and supporting infrastructure.
• Establish hardening, patching, upgrade, migration, capacity and obsolescence standards.
• Produce reusable engineering patterns, documentation and acceptance criteria, and ensure structured handovers to operations.
• Embed security‑by‑design, work with Cybersecurity to remediate vulnerabilities and maintain ISO 27001 evidence.

Required profile

• At least a two‑year higher education qualification in IT.
• Strong engineering experience with enterprise systems and datacenter infrastructure in a multi‑site environment.
• Practical expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization, compute and storage, plus solid understanding of Linux and hybrid infrastructure.
• Ability to produce technical designs, lead migrations/upgrades and hand over reliable solutions to operations.
