Indirect Business Leader - Africa

About the role

The Africa Indirect Business Leader is responsible for rebalancing and scaling Medtronic's indirect business across North and Central Africa, closing coverage gaps and strengthening market presence in tender‑driven, price‑sensitive environments.

Key responsibilities

• Own revenue growth, market share expansion and portfolio development across Africa while managing risk.
• Build strong local distributor presence, lead tender planning, execution and post‑tender performance management.
• Design a therapy‑focused organization, develop leaders and reps, and ensure training and capability uplift.
• Implement a consistent operating model with distributor reviews, KOL strategy, portfolio mix management and marketing activation.
• Act as senior commercial leader for Emerging Africa, driving leadership development and succession planning.

Required profile

• 12+ years of senior commercial leadership in emerging or developing markets, preferably Africa.
• Proven experience with tender‑driven healthcare markets and indirect/distributor models.
• Strong operator with hands‑on execution mindset, cultural intelligence and resilience.
• Ability to balance growth, compliance and risk in complex environments.
