Junior Test Automation Engineer

About the role

Bertrandt, an independent international engineering service provider with about 12,000 employees at more than 50 locations worldwide, is looking for a Junior Test Automation Engineer. The role focuses on implementing and maintaining automated tests for web and API applications, within the automotive, aerospace, defense and mechanical engineering sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain automated tests for web and API applications
• Develop and maintain automated regression tests
• Support the automation of end-to-end test scenarios
• Execute automated tests and analyze test results
• Document identified issues and defects
• Maintain existing test automation components
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of automated tests
• Collaborate with experienced Test Automation Engineers and Quality Engineering experts

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a comparable field
• Basic to good programming skills in Java
• Basic understanding of software testing and test automation
• First experience with Selenium, REST Assured, Playwright or comparable tools is beneficial
• Basic understanding of APIs and web technologies
• Interest in CI/CD and automated software testing
• Good English communication skills
• Structured, analytical and quality-oriented working style
• Willingness to learn new technologies and testing methods

Nice to have

• First practical experience in test automation
• Basic CI/CD knowledge
• First experience using AI tools for software development, test generation or test analysis
• Experience with regression testing
• Automotive or vehicle diagnostics knowledge
