Junior Test & Validation System Engineer (Embedded Systems)

About the role

ALTEN Delivery Center Morocco, a subsidiary of the global engineering and technology consulting group ALTEN, is looking for a skilled Test & Validation Engineer with strong experience in automotive embedded systems and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing. The position is based in Rabat and is full time.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop test cases to validate automotive ECUs and subsystems on HIL platforms.
• Run validation campaigns to ensure compliance with system requirements and specifications.
• Troubleshoot and fix issues with HIL benches so testing runs smoothly.
• Update simulation models and test scenarios regularly to match changing system needs.
• Develop automated test scripts in Python, CAPL or MATLAB/Simulink.
• Integrate test cases into CI/CD pipelines and analyse test results to spot software or hardware problems.
• Produce detailed test reports covering test coverage, defect trends and validation status.
• Validate communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet) and system interactions.
• Ensure all testing complies with automotive standards such as ISO 26262, ASPICE and OEM guidelines.

Required profile

• Hands-on experience with HIL testing tools such as dSPACE, Vector CANoe, NI VeriStand or ETAS.
• Strong knowledge of test scripting languages such as Python, CAPL or MATLAB/Simulink.
• Familiarity with vehicle electrical and electronic systems, including sensors, actuators and ECUs.
• Experience developing and running validation test plans, and ability to diagnose root causes of defects.
• Strong English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, UDS, FlexRay) and related tools.
• Ability to work within ISO 26262 and ASPICE frameworks.
