Onshore Document Controller – Rail Projects

About the role

Join Siemens Mobility as an Onshore Document Controller and play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient coordination, control, and follow‑up of project documentation for rail transportation projects. You will act as the primary liaison between onshore stakeholders and the offshore Document Management team, guaranteeing that all documents meet contractual, customer, and internal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the onshore focal point for all document‑management activities, aligning with offshore processes and tools.
• Perform formal checks on project documents (format, completeness, templates, numbering, metadata) before submission.
• Manage document versioning, status, traceability, and ensure correct registration, transmittal, and tracking in the EDM system.
• Coordinate document submissions to customers and partners, and support internal and external distribution.
• Maintain the Project Document List (PDL) and monitor workflows, deadlines, and review cycles.
• Provide regular status updates, track comments and approvals, and support audits and archiving.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience in document control or a similar role within engineering or rail projects.
• Strong understanding of document‑management plans, contractual requirements, and quality standards.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with engineering, project management, quality, and configuration teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Experience using collaboration platforms such as SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
• Familiarity with electronic document management systems (EDM) and document‑tracking tools.
