Portfolio Performance Analyst (Senior)

About the role

Africa50 is a pan‑African infrastructure investment platform seeking a Portfolio Performance Analyst (Senior) to support IFRS and IPEV valuations, performance analysis, and investment monitoring across its portfolio. The role sits in the Finance department, reporting to the Portfolio Performance Manager, and works closely with the broader Portfolio team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and review valuations using DCF, market multiples, transaction approaches and other models.
• Compile and review documentation for comparable company assumptions and evaluate cost of capital using CAPM.
• Analyse value‑creation drivers, manage databases for portfolio financials and KPIs.
• Monitor and review financial and operational performance of investments.
• Prepare periodic valuation and performance reports for Management and the Board.
• Support internal and external audit processes.
• Analyse portfolio trends, investment return drivers and macro‑economic factors.
• Assist in selecting tools and technology for data management and reporting.

Required profile

• 4‑7 years of experience in private equity, transaction services, valuations, financial analysis or a related field.
• University degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated academic excellence.
• Experience in emerging markets, preferably Africa, is a plus.
• Familiarity with business intelligence solutions such as Capital IQ or Bloomberg.
• Living experience in emerging countries is advantageous.
