Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Behavioral Sciences, Innovation and Market Adoption

About the role

Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), through its African Research Center on Air Quality and Climate (ARC_AIR), seeks a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to study the behavioral, social, economic and innovation dimensions of vertical farming adoption. The work sits at the intersection of behavioral sciences, sociology, psychology, consumer behavior, innovation studies, entrepreneurship and sustainable food systems, and aims to support evidence-based marketing, commercialization and innovation strategies for vertical farming products.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a research agenda covering four themes: social acceptance of vertical farming; behavioral models of consumer decision-making (e.g., Theory of Planned Behavior, Technology Acceptance Model, Diffusion of Innovation); market creation and entrepreneurial ecosystems; and commercialization and go-to-market strategies.
• Carry out behavioral experiments, consumer surveys, choice modeling, experimental economics and digital behavior analysis.
• Produce publications in high-impact international journals (Q1/Q2 preferred), review papers and policy-oriented reports on consumer behavior, psychology, sustainable food systems, innovation and marketing science.
• Contribute to competitive research proposals, identify national and international funding, build interdisciplinary partnerships and expand international collaboration.
• Support technology adoption, market intelligence, industry engagement, innovation ecosystem development and research valorization and commercialization.

Required profile

• A PhD obtained within the last five years in sociology, social psychology, behavioral psychology, consumer behavior, marketing, behavioral economics, entrepreneurship, management sciences or a related field.
• Ability to use mixed methods, including quantitative, qualitative, experimental and behavioral methods.
