Postdoctoral researcher – Biomass Conversion & Valorization

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated postdoctoral researcher to join the AgroBioSciences Program at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University. The position focuses on converting under‑used biomass into valuable biopolymers and bioactive compounds for sustainable agronomic applications.

Key responsibilities

• Extract and characterize biopolymers and bioactive molecules from under‑utilised biomass.
• Develop new formulations and conduct advanced physico‑chemical characterisations.
• Perform plant trials to evaluate agronomic performance.
• Conduct literature reviews, benchmark existing materials or processes, and propose innovative, sustainability‑driven solutions.
• Maintain rigorous documentation, ensure data integrity, and support scale‑up from laboratory to (semi)‑pilot scale.
• Prepare research reports, presentations, publications, patent disclosures and co‑supervise students.
• Collaborate with industrial partners, academic researchers, and internal R&D teams.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree in material science, biotechnology, formulation science or a related field.
• Experience with biomass conversion, extraction, or related laboratory techniques.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
