Postdoctoral Researcher – IoT Electronics and Embedded Systems

About the role

A research position is open for a postdoctoral researcher specializing in electronics and embedded systems, focused on designing and deploying IoT solutions for research projects such as air quality monitoring, water leak detection and energy monitoring of electric vehicle batteries. The candidate integrates real-time sensor data into cloud platforms to build reliable, secure and scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and test IoT solutions for air quality monitoring and electric vehicle battery tracking.
• Integrate environmental and energy sensors with real-time data collection and analysis systems.
• Deploy prototypes in the field and optimize them based on feedback.
• Ensure the reliability, security and scalability of the IoT solutions.
• Work with research teams to produce usable data and contribute to scientific publications.
• Disseminate results to decision-makers and communities.

Required profile

• PhD in electronics and embedded systems, telecommunications, industrial computing, electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Expertise in designing, prototyping and deploying IoT solutions for environmental and energy applications.
• Ability to lead a project from design to implementation, publish at an international level and communicate technical results to non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluent French and English.

Required skills

• Embedded electronics and microcontrollers (Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi).
• C/C++, Python and JavaScript; firmware development and optimization.
• IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, LoRaWAN, Zigbee, BLE, Wi-Fi, LTE).
• Cloud IoT platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT, ThingsBoard) and edge computing.
• IoT databases (InfluxDB, PostgreSQL, Firebase) and visualization tools (Grafana, Tableau).
