Postdoctoral Researcher – Li‑ion Battery Modelling

About the role

The Laboratory of Renewable Energies and Advanced Materials (LERMA) at the International University of Rabat seeks a postdoctoral researcher to advance its Li‑ion battery research. The role focuses on developing and validating multiphysics models that predict battery performance, heat generation, and degradation across cell and module scales.

Key responsibilities

• Develop coupled electro‑thermal models ranging from enhanced equivalent‑circuit to physics‑based SPM/P2D and finite‑element approaches.
• Identify model parameters through systematic experimental campaigns on LFP 18650/26650 cells.
• Validate model predictions against laboratory measurements under varied charge/discharge rates, temperatures, and operating profiles.
• Document modelling methodology and contribute to scientific publications.

Required profile

• PhD in electro‑chemistry, energy storage, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with multiphysics modelling of batteries or similar energy systems.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently in a research environment.
