Product Development Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Product Development Engineer to join our engineering team in the Oriental Region. The role focuses on designing, modelling, and validating mechanical components, especially precision‑injection‑moulded plastic parts, for automotive applications.

Key responsibilities

• Create, check, and modify 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software.
• Maintain CAD files, project documentation, and Bill of Materials in SAP.
• Ensure products meet initial targets and manage change requests from internal or external stakeholders.
• Interpret and implement all technical requirements from customers and internal teams.
• Support and interface with internal and external customers throughout the development cycle.
• Conduct feasibility studies, lead design reviews, and define significant characteristics for components.
• Develop PV test plans, review results with customers, and contribute to DFMEA to mitigate design risks.
• Write product specifications, handling manuals, and other project documentation.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• Fresh graduate or up to 1 year of post‑graduation design experience, preferably with injection‑moulded plastic parts.
• Basic knowledge of FEM simulation.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.
• Willingness to be based in the Oriental Region.

Required skills

• 3D CAD modelling and 2D drawing using CATIA.
• 3D CAD modelling and 2D drawing using SolidWorks.
• FEM simulation basics.
• Experience with automotive connector standards (LV214, USCAR‑21, GMW3191).
• Proficiency in SAP for managing CAD files and BOM.
