Program Technical Manager

About the role

The Program Technical Manager is a senior position responsible for steering the technical execution of vehicle programs from concept through industrialization and launch. The role ensures alignment of all technical activities with program goals and drives achievement of quality, cost, timing, performance, and complexity targets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide functional leadership to Technical Managers across assigned vehicle programs.
• Establish technical governance and enforce consistent development processes, standards, and methodologies.
• Monitor technical progress across all vehicle systems and ensure program milestones are met.
• Lead technical maturity reviews and readiness assessments throughout development and industrialization phases.
• Coordinate effectively between vehicle programs, platforms, modules, propulsion projects, software organizations, and advanced engineering teams.
• Escalate and resolve critical technical conflicts affecting performance, cost, timing, quality, or manufacturing readiness.
• Govern technical decision‑making and change management at the program level.
• Oversee resolution of technical issues identified during digital builds, prototype builds, manufacturing trials, and launch activities.
• Manage vehicle technical composition, configuration management, and complexity optimization across the program.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in automotive engineering, vehicle development, and program management.
• Proven track record of leading complex, cross‑functional vehicle development programs in a global environment.
• Strong understanding of the vehicle development lifecycle from concept to launch.
• Experience working within global automotive organizations and matrix environments.
