Project and Tender Director

About the role

Alstom is seeking a senior Project and Tender Director to lead the coordination of bids and project portfolios across its railway business. The role ensures alignment with strategic goals, optimises resource utilisation and drives performance across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Align the project portfolio with strategic objectives while minimising risk.
• Ensure resource capacity and availability match portfolio needs and optimise portfolio value.
• Oversee tender deliverables, commit to costing and resource allocation, and monitor execution via MPR & FPR.
• Accountable for portfolio performance indicators such as PPI, OTD, DFQ and on‑time tender delivery.
• Maintain QCD performance across projects, work packages and multi‑site environments.
• Report key risks and issues to site management and partner with the Site MD on profitability priorities.
• Staff, develop and assess bid/project teams, balancing workload across project phases.
• Track QCD, cash flow, progress and milestones; support daily operations and risk mitigation.
• Deploy and govern bid & project processes (including PM2020) and capture Return of Experience.
• Participate in audits, drive continuous improvement and facilitate cross‑site issue resolution.

Required profile

• Business Management, Engineering or related Master’s degree.
• Project Management certification (IPMA or PMI) is desirable.
• Minimum 10 years of experience leading projects and/or bids in a business or industrial environment.
• Previous transversal or international leadership assignment.
• Strong strategic vision and ability to work in a matrix organisation.
