Project Cost Controller – Automotive

About the role

ALTEN Morocco is seeking a Project Cost Controller to manage and consolidate R&D and CAPEX expenses for automotive projects. Reporting to the Project Economics Manager, you will ensure financial targets are met through rigorous expense monitoring and forecasting.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and monitor the status of project expenses, including make/buy investments, launch costs, and supplier services.
• Synthesize global project expenses, integrating FTE and validation data.
• Retrieve and maintain costbook data, creating multi‑year expense views and required splits.
• Guarantee data quality, consistency, and source integrity for expense reporting.
• Build and update a Risks and Opportunities portfolio for expenses.
• Lead action plans to align actual spending with assigned targets.
• Define robust expense targets in collaboration with Product Planning.
• Manage the annual project budget, produce monthly forecasts, and monitor variances.
• Coordinate with Purchasing and Engineering to meet forecasted expenses.
• Validate expense workflows for R&D and investment activities.
• Prepare the project for mass production, compile remaining expenses, and transfer budgets to the serial life team.
• Deliver final expense status and lessons learned at project closure.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Economics, or Engineering.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in project cost control, R&D, or CAPEX management.
