Purchasing Supervisor

About the role

The Purchasing Supervisor will oversee the procurement and inventory processes for our food and retail operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies. This role supports the team by maintaining accurate records, managing vendor relationships, and fostering a safe, efficient work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Print, organize, summarize and distribute essential documents to relevant staff.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of safety programs and local, state, and federal regulations.
• Adhere to food safety and handling policies across all food‑related areas.
• Keep clear, organized records of reports and invoices.
• Calculate inventory figures, orders and costs; conduct regular inventory audits.
• Notify management of low stock levels and monitor PAR levels for food items.
• Troubleshoot vendor delivery issues, oversee returns, and verify received inventory.
• Reconcile shipping invoices with receiving reports.
• Receive, unload and process deliveries, refusing damaged or incorrect items.
• Assist management with training, scheduling, counseling and motivating employees.
• Report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions; complete required safety training.
• Follow all company policies, maintain confidentiality and protect company assets.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb, standing for extended periods and moving through confined spaces.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 2 years of related procurement or inventory experience.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
• No specific license or certification required.
