Requirements / Specification Engineer – Steering Systems

About the role

Scalian is looking for a Requirements / Specification Engineer to lead the end‑to‑end specification and requirements engineering of steering system components. You will ensure technical consistency, completeness and compliance with system and OEM requirements while working within a multinational engineering consulting environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define, document and manage requirements for steering system hardware and software.
• Guarantee technical consistency and compliance with OEM specifications.
• Develop wiring diagrams, layout designs and EMV analyses.
• Conduct mechanical investigations such as installation space, acoustic performance and stiffness.
• Support software development activities including runtime architecture and trace analysis.
• Coordinate component‑level Verbund management and interface with project teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive development, preferably with VW projects.
• Strong background in automotive project coordination/PMO and requirements engineering.
• Deep knowledge of mechatronic systems, especially steering systems.
• Analytical mindset with high attention to detail and documentation quality.
• Professional proficiency in English; German is a strong asset.
