Road Freight Specialist

About the role

A multinational logistics company is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Road Freight Specialist to support its road freight operations. The role covers coordinating domestic and international road freight, organizing shipments and negotiating rates with carriers.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage daily domestic and international road freight operations.
• Organize shipments, plan transportation activities and coordinate with carriers and logistics partners.
• Monitor shipment progress to ensure timely deliveries and compliance with customer requirements.
• Request and negotiate transport rates with carriers to secure cost-effective solutions.
• Maintain regular communication with customers, suppliers, transport partners and internal stakeholders.
• Manage transport documentation and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and procedures.
• Proactively identify and resolve operational issues, delays and transportation claims.
• Monitor operational KPIs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure accurate shipment data and timely updates in internal systems.

Required profile

• Previous experience in road freight, transport coordination or freight forwarding.
• Good knowledge of road transport operations and logistics processes.
• Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Customer-focused mindset and attention to detail.
• Good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with TMS or ERP systems is a plus.
