Scrap Qualifier

About the role

The Scrap Qualifier ensures that incoming metal scrap meets the company’s quality, safety and environmental standards during the preparation phase. Working under the Preparation & Transfer Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining product integrity and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect raw scrap material during preparation, verifying quality, dimensions and compliance with performance targets.
• Estimate the quality percentage of scrap batches and identify oversized or non‑conforming pieces.
• Measure dimensions of oxy‑cut pieces and separate suspect material.
• Ensure the availability and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety devices.
• Follow all quality, health, safety, environmental and energy (QHSEE) procedures and report any incidents.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of safety, health and environmental performance.

Required profile

• Minimum Bac+2 technical education.
• Knowledge of different scrap types and their specific characteristics.
• Understanding of integrated management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001).
• Strong teamwork, communication and responsibility mindset.

Required skills

• Quality control methods for metal scrap.
• Proficiency with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 standards.
• Scrap measurement and dimension verification.
• Use and maintenance of personal protective equipment.
