Senior Accountant (Remote)

About the role

Amira Learning is seeking a Senior Accountant to own core pieces of month‑end close, multistate tax compliance, AR/AP, and balance‑sheet management. This hands‑on, technical role supports revenue recognition under ASC 606 and plays a central part in financial reporting and ERP migration.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end close tasks, including journal entries, accruals, and amortization schedules, and prepare draft financial statements with variance analysis.
• Support revenue recognition, deferred revenue accounting, and customer invoicing while reconciling related balances.
• Maintain balance‑sheet reconciliations, fixed‑asset records, and commission accruals, including capitalized commissions.
• Oversee AR/AP processes, cash application, vendor payments, and refunds, ensuring sub‑ledger alignment.
• Lead ERP migration activities, data conversion, testing, and build automation reports and SOPs.
• Prepare and file multistate sales/use, income, and franchise tax returns and manage the annual audit.

Required profile

• 3+ years progressive accounting experience, preferably in public accounting (Big 4) or SaaS/edtech environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA certification is a strong plus.
• Strong command of US GAAP, especially ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 340‑40 capitalized commissions.
• Proven ability to deliver timely, accurate close work and manage external audits.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with a collaborative remote‑work mindset.
