Senior Accounting Specialist, ATR

About the role

Join APM Terminals, part of Maersk, as a Senior Accounting Specialist in the Tangier Business Centre. You will work within a global finance environment, supporting month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities while ensuring compliance with IFRS and group accounting policies.

Key responsibilities

• Perform month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end financial closing activities.
• Prepare, review and post accounting entries including accruals, provisions, reclassifications, cost allocations and manual journals.
• Complete balance‑sheet, bank and intercompany reconciliations, investigating discrepancies promptly.
• Manage fixed‑asset accounting: capitalization, depreciation, disposals, impairment and register reconciliations.
• Support IFRS 16 lease accounting and maintain lease‑related records.
• Prepare and validate financial data for group reporting (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow, disclosures).
• Assist audits, execute internal controls and ensure compliance with IFRS, group policies and local statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting or financial closing.
• Strong practical knowledge of month‑end closing, journal entries, accruals, provisions and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Good understanding of IFRS and general accounting principles.
• Experience with internal controls, audit requirements and financial governance frameworks.

Required skills

• ERP systems – preferably IFS or similar.
• Financial reporting tools – OneStream is an advantage.
• Knowledge of IFRS 16 lease accounting.
• Ability to analyse financial data, identify variances and investigate discrepancies.
