Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Yakeey, a fast‑growing PropTech company in Casablanca, is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to own a domain within its multi‑product platform (marketplace, credit, valuation). You will design and deliver high‑quality Java‑based micro‑services while collaborating with front‑end, data, DevOps and AI teams to keep the architecture coherent.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain Java/Spring Boot micro‑services for the assigned domain following domain‑driven design.
• Design and expose RESTful APIs that integrate with other platform components, respecting the Model Context Protocol where applicable.
• Ensure architectural consistency by adhering to established patterns, guidelines and cross‑team agreements.
• Collaborate with front‑end, data, DevOps and AI teams to understand dependencies and deliver integrated solutions.
• Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews and continuous delivery pipelines.
• Mentor junior developers and promote knowledge sharing across teams.

Required profile

• Strong background in backend engineering with several years of experience building Java/Spring Boot services.
• Deep understanding of micro‑services architecture, RESTful API design and cloud environments (AWS, Kubernetes).
• Curiosity and hands‑on interest in AI technologies such as large language models, retrieval‑augmented generation and the Model Context Protocol.
• Ability to work independently on a specific domain while aligning with a broader platform vision.
