Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own and evolve the core APIs and real‑time services that connect POS systems, kitchens and back‑office operations across multiple stores. You will play a key part in shaping our multi‑tenant SaaS architecture and ensuring the platform scales reliably for restaurants and retail locations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high‑performance RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.js.
• Implement real‑time order flows between POS, KDS and back‑office with Socket.IO.
• Model, optimize and maintain data in SQL and MongoDB databases.
• Build asynchronous processing pipelines using Redis and Bull queues.
• Manage containerised deployments with Docker and Docker Compose.
• Integrate third‑party services such as payment gateways, messaging and hardware devices.
• Drive architectural decisions for multi‑store, multi‑tenant SaaS solutions.
• Ensure data integrity, security, scalability and overall system performance.
• Review code, mentor junior engineers and establish backend development standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience building production‑grade backend systems.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive projects from design to production.
• Experience designing and operating multi‑tenant SaaS platforms.
• Solid understanding of authentication and security mechanisms (JWT, sessions, API keys).
