Orange Business, a global network and digital integrator, is seeking a seasoned Data Engineer to join its Sala Al Jadida team in Morocco. This full‑time, permanent position (CDI) offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic, cross‑functional environment that spans data strategy, cloud migration, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines that support the organization’s data initiatives across on‑prem and cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, modeling, and warehousing using Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, NiFi, and other Big Data technologies.
- Lead the migration of existing on‑prem Big Data use cases to Azure‑based cloud solutions, ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption.
- Define detailed technical specifications based on user stories, translating business requirements into actionable data solutions.
- Automate data workflows and deploy them in DevOps environments, leveraging CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
- Optimize data ingestion, processing, and query performance on distributed data lakes and SQL engines, ensuring high throughput and low latency.
- Ensure data quality, security, and compliance across all data pipelines, implementing best practices for data governance and privacy.
- Document technical specifications, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides to support knowledge transfer and maintainability.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for data pipelines and solutions, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues quickly.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Required Skills
- Extensive experience with Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS, Hive, YARN, NiFi, Oozie, Kafka).
- Proficiency in Spark (Scala, Python, Java) for large‑scale data processing.
- Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms: Azure (Data Factory, Synapse, Power BI), AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Strong SQL skills, data modeling, and API integration.
- Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and DevOps practices.
- Excellent scripting skills in Linux environments for automation and administration.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills in English and French.
