Senior Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Advisor

About the role

Spark is seeking a Senior Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Advisor to support the design and implementation of a programme that strengthens women’s entrepreneurship in Morocco and Tunisia. The consultant will work remotely, travelling to the field as needed, to ensure gender and inclusion considerations are fully integrated into project activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on gender equality and social inclusion across all phases of the programme.
• Develop and adapt GESI frameworks, tools, and indicators for use by implementing partners.
• Conduct gender assessments and analyses to inform programme design and monitoring.
• Support capacity‑building workshops for partners on gender mainstreaming and inclusive entrepreneurship.
• Track, evaluate, and report on GESI outcomes, ensuring alignment with donor requirements.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement with local women’s networks, NGOs, and government bodies.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in gender studies, development studies, social sciences or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience integrating gender and social inclusion in development programmes, preferably in fragile or conflict‑affected contexts.
• Demonstrated experience working in North‑African settings, especially Morocco or Tunisia.
• Strong analytical and report‑writing skills in English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of gender mainstreaming frameworks and GESI best practices.
• Experience designing gender‑sensitive monitoring and evaluation systems.
• Ability to facilitate trainings and workshops for diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in stakeholder analysis and participatory approaches.
