Senior Manager, Platform Software Engineering

About the role

The Senior Manager, Platform Software Engineering leads multiple platform teams responsible for the evolution of middleware used by several consumer groups. The role focuses on performance, cost control, reliability, and safe upgrades while driving cross‑team improvements in observability, service‑level objectives and resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead platform teams to standardize middleware patterns, client libraries, APIs and SDKs across the organization.
• Define and enforce group‑level guardrails, deprecation strategies and upgrade playbooks, monitoring adoption and risk.
• Sponsor shared observability frameworks, capacity models and error‑budget tracking, and drive corrective actions.
• Oversee software design, testing, performance profiling and optimization, ensuring accessibility and quality standards.
• Guide teams in debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving issues across multiple components and functional areas.
• Architect API versioning, lifecycle management and interoperability strategies.
• Conduct regular technology research and architectural reviews to enhance scalability and performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large, cross‑functional platform engineering teams.
• Strong track record of delivering reliable, cost‑effective middleware solutions at scale.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, both internal and external.
• Ability to define strategic roadmaps and translate them into tactical execution.
