Senior Non-Key Expert – Green Transition & Water Management

About the role

The Senior Non-Key Expert will provide high‑quality technical assistance for the EU‑funded “Egypt Downtown Facility” project. The role focuses on advancing Egypt’s green transition, climate action, sustainable water resource management, renewable energy and energy efficiency within the framework of EU‑Egypt partnership.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical support for policy and investment priorities related to green transition, climate change, renewable energy, energy efficiency and water management.
• Prepare sector assessments, diagnostics, feasibility studies, policy papers and investment‑related analyses to inform programme implementation.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in environmental sciences, climate change, energy, engineering, economics, sustainable development or a related field.
• At least 7 years of professional experience in green transition, climate change, renewable energy, energy efficiency or environmental sustainability.
• Proven experience preparing sector assessments, diagnostics, feasibility studies, policy papers or investment analyses.
• Strong knowledge of EU climate, energy and green transition policies and relevant international frameworks.
• Understanding of water, sanitation and environmental management issues.
• Experience working in Egypt or the broader MENA region is desirable.
