Senior Occupational Health & Safety Specialist

About the role

Martur Fompak International, a manufacturer and supplier of seating systems, vehicle interiors and automotive textiles, is looking for a Senior Occupational Health & Safety Specialist in Tangier. The role supports top management on HSE policy, management systems and safety procedures, and covers audits, risk assessment, incident investigation and safety training.

Key responsibilities

• Support top management on HSE policy and guidelines, the definition of safety-related roles and responsibilities, and the HSE management system standard.
• Ensure, according to corporate guidelines, the implementation, updating, review and auditing of the company HSE systems, and monitor the implementation of safety and environmental procedures.
• Provide motivation and familiarisation of all personnel on compliance with company procedures and safety equipment.
• Assist the commercial, engineering and operations departments with health and safety matters with clients, liaise with clients on safety issues and prepare H&S documentation for new tenders.
• Conduct internal and external safety audits and audit sub-contractors.
• Take part in accident and incident investigations and provide technical support to senior management on safety topics.
• Carry out in-house safety training, perform risk assessments, give safety engineering input to new projects and modifications, and take part in HAZOP meetings before procurement and installation.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in an HSE role within a manufacturing or automotive environment.
• Fluent in English and French.

• Strong knowledge of Moroccan HSE legislation and international standards.
• Analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to drive a proactive safety culture and influence stakeholders at all levels.
