Senior QHSE Officer

About the role

Swissport is seeking a Senior QHSE Officer to support the QS Manager in driving safety, quality, health and environmental excellence at an assigned station. You will ensure compliance with Swissport procedures, regulatory requirements and airline standards while fostering a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the QS Manager in implementing and maintaining the Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Monitor operational compliance with labor laws, airline customer requirements and internal policies.
• Deliver daily safety briefings, toolbox talks and promote hazard reporting via the SMT system.
• Support incident investigations, document findings and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct risk assessments, track mitigation actions and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
• Perform operational inspections and audits across ramp, passenger handling, documentation, GSE and cleaning activities.
• Prepare monthly QHSE dashboards, track KPIs and issue safety alerts.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in QHSE within aviation or a related high‑hazard environment.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
• Proven ability to lead safety briefings, incident investigations and risk assessments.
• Excellent analytical skills to interpret audit results and KPI trends.
