Senior Reliability Engineer – MEM Department

About the role

The MEM Senior Reliability Engineer will lead the reliability strategy for Kinross' Tasiast Mine, overseeing a team of engineers, inspectors and dispatchers. Reporting to the Planning and Reliability Superintendent, the role combines technical expertise with leadership to sustain a reliability‑focused culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain TMLSA, standards and specifications that promote reliability.
• Manage the reliability group, including engineers, inspectors and dispatchers.
• Lead investigations into equipment failures and performance issues.
• Continuously review equipment performance and update inspection, preventive maintenance and predictive condition‑based strategies.
• Oversee the QA/QC inspection programme to ensure value‑added work and high standards.
• Implement sustainable condition‑based maintenance strategies in collaboration with shop teams.
• Develop processes to capture, track and act on condition‑based data promptly.

Required profile

• Proven experience in reliability engineering within a mining or heavy‑industry environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical skills to assess equipment performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Capability to translate reliability strategies into practical, value‑adding actions.
