Software Development Manager

About the role

RED TIC is looking for an experienced Software Development Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team. You will be responsible for delivering a mission‑critical stack with a focus on security, resiliency, scale and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a software engineering team across multiple roles and career tracks.
• Own delivery of large‑scale, production‑ready services, ensuring security, performance and scalability.
• Partner with operations and development teams to improve service architecture and resiliency.
• Define and track metrics, KPIs, SLOs and visualisations for cloud applications.
• Act as the escalation point for complex, undocumented issues and drive mitigation strategies.
• Drive innovation in observability, resiliency, scalability and code quality.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience managing software engineers delivering large‑scale systems.
• Strong ability to work independently in ambiguous situations with a positive attitude.
• Excellent communication, presentation and cross‑group collaboration skills.
• Proven track record of risk analysis, mitigation planning and process improvement.

Required skills

• Distributed systems and data structures design.
• REST APIs and RESTful architecture concepts.
• Database architecture and implementation.
• Algorithms, complexity analysis, computer architecture and operating systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Java.
• Experience with distributed computing, parallel computing and operating systems.
