SSTL – ECU Safety Engineer (Automotive)

About the role

Expleo is seeking an experienced Sub‑System Technical Leader (SSTL) to drive ECU safety development within a Stellantis automotive environment. You will own the safety perimeter of the ECU, ensuring that requirements, functional safety, architecture, development, integration and validation are coordinated throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the technical development of the ECU safety scope from requirements definition through validation and vehicle integration.
• Analyse and manage system and ECU technical requirements, guaranteeing consistency, completeness, traceability and feasibility.
• Define and maintain ECU system architecture and HW/SW interfaces.
• Coordinate functional safety activities in line with ISO 26262, including HARA, FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, FSC and TSC.
• Ensure proper implementation of safety requirements and mechanisms within the ECU.
• Facilitate cross‑functional collaboration among system, software, hardware, validation and vehicle integration teams.
• Lead technical reviews, resolve issues, and monitor maturity, risks, open points and milestones.
• Manage technical interfaces with suppliers and internal Stellantis stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong technical leadership with system‑level thinking.
• Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Professional proficiency in English; French proficiency is a plus.
