Subject Matter Expert (Support & Ops)

About the role

We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert to provide 24/7 production support for critical, high‑availability Oracle databases. The role involves performance optimisation, incident diagnosis, and hands‑on work with Exadata environments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide production support for large, mission‑critical Oracle databases.
• Administer and troubleshoot Oracle RAC 11gR1/R2, Clusterware/GRID, ASM, and Dataguard.
• Perform SQL performance tuning and overall database optimisation.
• Manage backups, restores and migrations using RMAN, Datapump, Export/Import.
• Monitor databases via Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control.
• Develop and maintain advanced shell scripts (bash/ksh) on Solaris, Linux and AIX.
• Participate in on‑call rotation (24/7) and resolve complex incidents.
• Automate routine tasks with internal scripting tools.
• Collaborate with internal and offshore teams following ITIL Change & Release Management processes.
• Support Oracle Cloud environments (OCI / Cloud@Customer).

Required profile

• 10‑12 years of experience as an Oracle DBA in production.
• Minimum 6 years of hands‑on experience with Oracle Exadata.
• Proven experience in 24/7 support environments.
• Strong communication and diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to work in critical settings and with offshore teams.
• ITIL Foundation certification is a plus.
