Teaching Assistant

About the role

The Casablanca American School is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support teachers in creating a safe and effective learning environment. You will work closely with faculty to ensure classroom procedures run smoothly and students receive the assistance they need.

Key responsibilities

• Provide translation during parent meetings when required.
• Attend school events, meetings, and in‑house trainings.
• Lead small invitational groups set up by teachers, focusing on targeted skills.
• Offer one‑on‑one student assistance and substitute for absent teachers.
• Support formative assessment and contribute to a positive classroom culture.
• Help students with self‑management tools such as agendas and notebooks.
• Assist with lesson preparation, classroom setup, and resource organization.
• Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and dismissal.
• Assist in specialist classes, including PE for grades N‑G2.
• Manage classroom resources, photocopying, inventory, and Chromebook care.

Required profile

• Local university degree or equivalent.
• Proficient written and spoken English.
• Computer literacy preferred.
• Successful completion of extensive background checks and child‑safety screening.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of student, parent, and staff information.
