Technical Support Representative (Cummins)

About the role

BIA Group sells, rents and provides after-sales services for equipment used in public works, mines, quarries and transport, operating in Europe, Africa and Asia. It is looking for a Technical Support Representative (Cummins) to provide technical expertise on breakdowns and service cases escalated by country teams and the central teams, and to build product knowledge for BIA's after-market teams. The internal job title is Engine Specialist (Cummins).

Key responsibilities

• Act as the single point of contact between OEMs and BIA, follow up technical support issues and maximize claim recovery while complying with OEM standards.
• Provide timely technical support to after-market customers, ensure they meet OEM claims and technical obligations, and maintain quality feedback processes.
• Manage the flow of technical information from OEMs to BIA, prepare reports and statistics on technical issues, and hold monthly reporting meetings with OEMs and the after-market community.
• Carry out remote or on-site technical investigations on major issues and support the deployment of digital solutions such as Smartfleet and OEM programs.
• Promote sharing of best practices across countries and escalate urgent or blocking issues to management.
• Monitor shovel performance, analyse machine data via KOMTRAX Plus or other telemetry systems, and support clients and maintenance teams.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues, ensure preventive and corrective maintenance plans are followed, and recommend component replacements and overhauls based on condition monitoring and oil sampling.
• Ensure maintenance and repair comply with site safety regulations, identify hazards in shovel operations, and help forecast spare parts inventory to reduce downtime.

Required profile

• Mechanical or electro-mechanical engineer diploma or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 to 10 years' experience as a technical engineer or in a similar position.
• Proven experience dealing with Cummins engines.
• Fluent English; French is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office tools, mastery of Excel.
• Experience with SAP is a plus.
