Technologist (Machine Tool & Prototype Development)

About the role

As a Technologist at TE, you will work with a diverse team to set up, fabricate, assemble, maintain and test machinery and equipment for experimental projects. The role focuses on turning design concepts into functional prototypes while ensuring safety, quality and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate machine tools according to established machining procedures.
• Fabricate, assemble and test prototype components for product development.
• Perform quality checks on finished products, document defects and identify root causes.
• Interpret blueprints and design documents to create accurate toolpaths and ensure all necessary parts are available.
• Monitor preventive maintenance, calibrate equipment and schedule routine service in line with guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in machining or prototype development.
• High school diploma; vocational training or an associate degree is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document technical findings.
