Tool & Die Maker III

About the role

At TE, the Tool & Die Maker III provides manufacturing support by designing, building, and maintaining tools and fixtures for production. The role involves evaluating part specifications, ensuring tool availability, and contributing to a safer, sustainable manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair complex stamping tools for cutting, bending, and assembly.
• Prepare, adjust, and start tools in the production process.
• Measure and validate finished products and support new tool introductions.
• Monitor tool performance, optimise cutting tools and processes, and report breakdown root causes.
• Provide training for new recruits and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Required profile

• Technician Certificate in Mechanical Manufacturing or Mechanical Manufacturing Methods.
• Minimum 2 years of tool‑making experience in a production environment.
• Hands‑on problem‑solving approach with understanding of production costs, waste, downtime, scrap and rework.
• Experience applying 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.

Required skills

• Proficiency with measurement techniques and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of stamping tool maintenance and optimisation.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and cost implications of operational decisions.
