Automotive Test and Validation Engineer (Embedded Systems)

About the role

We are looking for a Test and Validation Engineer specialized in Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) testing of automotive embedded systems. The role focuses on ensuring the performance, reliability, and compliance of electronic control units (ECUs) and related subsystems for our automotive clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop test cases for ECUs and subsystems on HIL platforms.
• Execute validation campaigns to verify compliance with system requirements and specifications.
• Troubleshoot HIL bench issues and maintain smooth testing operations.
• Update simulation models and test scenarios as system requirements evolve.
• Develop automated test scripts using Python, CAPL, or MATLAB/Simulink.
• Integrate test cases into CI/CD pipelines for efficient testing workflows.
• Analyze test results, identify software or hardware defects, and produce detailed test reports.
• Validate communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet and ensure adherence to standards like ISO 26262 and ASPICE.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (BAC+5) in embedded systems or equivalent engineering experience.
• 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience with HIL testing tools.
• Strong knowledge of automotive communication protocols and electronic systems.
• Proven ability to develop and execute validation test plans.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Required skills

• HIL tools: dSPACE, Vector CANoe, NI VeriStand, ETAS.
• Programming/scripting: Python, CAPL, MATLAB/Simulink.
• Automotive protocols: CAN, LIN, UDS, FlexRay, Ethernet.
• Experience with CI/CD integration for test automation.
