Category Manager – FMCG

About the role

The Category Manager will lead the trade‑marketing strategy for an assigned fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) brand or category. You will be responsible for designing and executing business plans that drive sales growth, profitability, and market share.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy the Trade Marketing Business Plan for the assigned brand/category.
• Manage national and tailored activities to increase sales while optimizing spend.
• Maintain supplier relationships, co‑create sales business plans, and coordinate joint marketing initiatives.
• Set, align, and execute joint business plans, overseeing budget allocation and sales forecasts.
• Collaborate with local agencies to produce in‑store and POS materials that reinforce brand equity.
• Analyse sales data and market‑share trends by channel to inform targeted marketing actions.
• Communicate brand plans to the sales team, conduct field visits, and ensure flawless in‑store execution.
• Gather customer objectives from the sales force and tailor brand plans to support them.
• Monitor category dynamics—including competitors, pricing, and assortment—to shape strategic activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in sales, trade marketing, or brand management within the FMCG sector.
• BA degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field from a reputable university.
• Proven operational and managerial experience.
• Strong understanding of FMCG market dynamics.
