Commodity Buyer

About the role

Magna is seeking a Commodity Buyer to join its Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group. The role focuses on sourcing and procuring raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies that support the development of automotive technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and qualify new suppliers through interviews and site visits.
• Negotiate prices and terms with existing and potential vendors.
• Purchase raw materials, components, tools and other supplies required for assigned product lines.
• Maintain minimum inventory levels while ensuring uninterrupted production schedules.
• Act as a strategic liaison with suppliers to guarantee raw‑material availability aligned with release plans.

Required profile

• 1‑5 years of experience in commodity buying, procurement or supply‑chain purchasing.
• Strong analytical and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, production and quality teams.
