Design & Release Engineer – Automotive Development

About the role

As a Design & Release Engineer at Stellantis, you will lead the development of automotive components or systems, ensuring they meet Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Performance (QCDP) targets. You will coordinate with suppliers, drive component development, and manage integration within the vehicle architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure completeness and availability of engineering documentation for supplier sourcing packages.
• Lead technical reviews and contribute to supplier selection decisions.
• Analyze supplier feedback and prepare technical recommendation reports.
• Drive component development to meet project milestones and QCDP objectives.
• Manage supplier activities and ensure compliance with APQP quality processes.
• Guarantee design robustness, manufacturability, and technical feasibility.
• Lead DFMEA/PFMEA and risk‑assessment activities.
• Coordinate prototype delivery for validation phases and component integration into engine, vehicle, and platform systems.
• Identify risks, drive corrective actions, and manage validation plans (DV/PV).
• Lead engineering change management and technical configuration.
• Contribute to cost‑reduction and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Support crisis resolution and technical problem‑solving.
• Provide clear reporting to project stakeholders and mentor engineers or external resources.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of automotive engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of product development lifecycle, project management tools, and quality processes.
• Proven experience working with suppliers and cross‑functional teams.
• Fluent English (minimum B2 level).
