Head of Engineering

About the role

We are looking for a visionary Head of Engineering to lead the technical roadmap of Cauridor’s cross‑border remittance and payment platform. The role combines hands‑on software architecture with team leadership, ensuring our PHP Laravel, React and Python stack scales securely across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical vision and architecture for a distributed fintech platform.
• Lead design and implementation of high‑performance APIs (PHP Laravel) and data services (Python).
• Oversee development of responsive web interfaces using React.
• Set and enforce standards for code quality, security, performance and CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor and manage a team of engineers, conduct code reviews and architectural audits.
• Collaborate with product managers to translate business requirements into technical road‑maps.
• Integrate with global financial partners, IMTOs and local mobile network operators.
• Lead fraud‑prevention and security initiatives to protect user data.

Required profile

• 10‑15+ years of software development experience with deep expertise in PHP Laravel.
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams in fast‑paced environments.
• Strong project‑management skills and familiarity with Agile/Scrum.
• Excellent communication ability to convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
