Junior Accountant

About the role

Path Accountants is seeking a Junior Accountant to support day‑to‑day accounting and tax activities for small and medium‑sized enterprises and self‑employed clients. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, posting journal entries, and ensuring timely reconciliation of bank and ledger accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries in the accounting system.
• Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts on a regular basis.
• Assist in the preparation of basic financial reports for clients.
• Support bookkeeping tasks and organize client documentation.
• Help compile information required for tax filings and compliance documentation.
• Communicate with senior team members to clarify client requirements and ensure data accuracy.
• Utilize digital accounting tools and cloud‑based systems to manage client records.

Required profile

• Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles, including double‑entry bookkeeping and account reconciliations.
• Relevant degree in Accounting and Finance (ENCG or ISCAE preferred).
• Prior internship or junior‑level experience in accounting or bookkeeping is beneficial.
• Fluent English with effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks.
• Proficiency with Xero.
• Advanced Excel skills.
