About the role

The Cost Pilot will work on advanced automotive projects, ensuring that the project’s cost commitments are met while maintaining an optimal cost‑performance ratio. You will collaborate with project partners across zones to consolidate economic elements and drive cost‑focused decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Build and monitor the project’s cost commitment, consolidating all economic elements to meet targets.
• Structure cost‑management activities according to “Job share”, “Pay share” and RASI defined by project partners.
• Monitor design costs to guarantee optimal TPC‑Investment relative to performance, quality, schedule and R&D expenses.
• Provide economic reporting, including TPC forecasts, expense status, and investment comparisons against targets.
• Define component cost targets for purchasing in line with global GPSC objectives.
• Build and monitor risk and opportunity portfolios for both project and serial life phases.
• Lead cost‑convergence plans, negotiate transformation cost contracts with manufacturing, and manage make‑and‑buy investment contracts.
• Control yearly investment and expenses, produce monthly budget breakdowns, and analyse actuals versus convergence plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree (Bac+5) in Economics.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in cost management, preferably in automotive or related engineering projects.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
