Postdoctoral Fellowship in Crystallography

About the role

The ACER Centre of Excellence at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to lead cutting‑edge crystallography research. The position involves independent scientific investigation, publication of results, and contribution to teaching activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct original, internationally competitive research in crystallography and related materials science.
• Prepare manuscripts for high‑impact journals and present findings at conferences, workshops, and meetings.
• Report progress and results to the research team and coordinate with core scientific staff.
• Identify and implement improvements in research processes using integrated management approaches.
• Assist in writing research grant proposals and securing funding.
• Develop undergraduate and master‑level courses or modules.
• Support equipment procurement and liaison with international suppliers.
• Supervise and mentor PhD students, providing guidance on their research projects.

Required profile

• PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Crystallography, or a closely related field.
• Strong knowledge of crystallization techniques.
• Proven expertise in solving crystal structures using single‑crystal X‑ray diffraction data.
• Experience with powder X‑ray diffraction or electronic diffraction is a plus.
• Familiarity with advanced structural characterization methods.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Solid publication record in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
