Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Tangier. The role involves managing client accounting files, performing reconciliations and supporting monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and follow up on a portfolio of client accounting files.
• Record and control purchase invoices, sales invoices, and financial transactions.
• Process and monitor banking transactions.
• Perform customer and supplier account reconciliations and lettrage.
• Review general ledger accounts and identify errors or unusual transactions.
• Follow up on suspense accounts, outstanding items, and missing documents.
• Prepare accounting files for monthly, quarterly, and annual closing.
• Prepare reports and accounting schedules for review.
• Participate in VAT and tax‑related activities.
• Communicate with clients to clarify transactions and obtain missing information.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in an accounting firm.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
• Experience managing client accounting portfolios and closing activities.
• Good understanding of VAT and tax‑related accounting requirements.
• Fluent in French with good communication skills in English.
